Emergency Roofer in Colchester
Water on the ceiling or tiles in the road after a gale. During opening hours, emergency calls jump the queue and we make the roof safe before we talk about anything else. Call 01206 806540.
Our Hours, Plainly
Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm. We do not promise round-the-clock cover, because you would be relying on a promise nobody here could keep.

If Water Is Coming In Now
Ten minutes of damage limitation saves ceilings and wiring. Work top to bottom, and stay off the roof yourself.
Move what can be moved
Belongings, rugs, and especially anything electrical. Water travels along floors and joists, so clear a wider arc than the drip line.
Catch and contain
Basins, buckets, thick towels. Lay a board in the loft across joists if you can reach the wet area safely from inside.
Drain a bulging ceiling
If plaster is sagging into a dome, a small hole with a bucket under it releases the water in a controlled stream instead of a collapsed ceiling. Stand to the side, not underneath.
Photograph, then call
Pictures of the damage inside and out help everyone, insurers included. Then call 01206 806540. Outside hours, leave a message with your address and what is wrong, and keep to steps one to three until the line opens.
What We Rush To
Active Leaks
Water entering through the covering somewhere between a slipped slate and a split flat roof seam. Tracing the entry point is part of the emergency visit.
Storm Damage
Ridges lost, slopes stripped, lead lifted. Essex gales do this in an hour, and the next shower finishes what the wind started.
Hanging Tiles
Slates or tiles loose above a doorway, patio or pavement. That is a safety issue, not a maintenance item, and it gets treated as one.
Make Safe First, Repair Properly After
An emergency call-out has one job: stop the damage growing. Sometimes that is a full repair in a single visit; more often it is sheeting a stripped slope, refixing what the gale loosened, or clearing the blocked valley that is flooding everything downhill of it. That is the visit that jumps the queue.
The permanent work then gets quoted properly, with the roof dry and visible, and scheduled like any other job. Doing it in that order keeps emergency rates off work that can fairly wait a day, and it means the real repair is priced for what the roof needs, not what the weather allowed us to see. If the damage uncovers a roof that was failing anyway, the honest options for new roofs in Colchester are on their own page.
The same storm that brings the emergency usually brings the diagnosis with it. Colchester sits exposed to whatever the North Sea pushes ashore, and the town's older slate and tile roofs shed fixings in exactly the gales that flood the phone line. If you are reading this the morning after, our roof repair in Colchester page covers the follow-up work, and flat roofing in Colchester covers the flat side. The full picture of what we do is on the roofers in Colchester page.
Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm
No round-the-clock claims. Real hours, kept, with emergency calls prioritised whenever the line is open.
